What LuckyFind records and how it works

A record of your hunt, not a metal detector

LuckyFind is an iPhone and Android companion for people using a physical metal detector. It records a phone GPS route and the finds you choose to log, then helps you revisit those records and understand your hunting statistics.

The phone does not detect buried metal through LuckyFind. Find names, categories, depths and notes are entered by you; they are not automatically measured or identified by the app. A drawn GPS line is not a measurement of the ground swept by your detector coil.

What is free, and what needs Premium?

Core route tracking and find logging are free. LuckyFind Premium unlocks find photos, satellite and hybrid maps, and overlays of previous routes and finds.

Account sync for routes and find details does not require Premium.

A standard map and the current hunt are part of the core experience. Premium map overlays display previous route lines and find pins; they do not identify public access, property boundaries or permission to detect. Find photos with Premium support up to two images per find. Available plans and prices appear in the app before purchase.

Restoring a store purchase restores eligible Premium access; it does not select or recover the LuckyFind account that owns your hunts. See account recovery.

One product, with some platform differences

Recording a find

Both platforms hold the find location from when you open the form. iOS temporarily suspends route GPS updates while that form is open; Android can keep recording the route. This is separate from an explicit timer pause. See hunt controls.

GPS acceptance and units

The platforms use different freshness and accuracy cutoffs and determine distance units differently. Small numerical differences do not necessarily mean data is missing. See GPS sampling and statistics.

Export

iOS exports GPX route tracks and find waypoints. Android exports a CSV route/find list without the full track. Neither includes photo files or provides a complete account backup. See exact export contents.

What this reference does—and does not—cover

These pages describe the reviewed app code: user-entered records, route recording, calculated statistics and account workflows. They are not a claim that every device, GPS condition or installed app version behaves identically. They are also not an exhaustive inventory of service logs or diagnostics; the Privacy Policy covers the broader data practices.

LuckyFind does not currently offer a web hunt recorder, group-hunt sharing or a candidate-site planner. This website provides product information, Help and detecting guides. It does not display your private account records.
