LuckyFind is a free metal detecting companion app for iPhone and Android, built by detectorists who got tired of forgetting which corner of the park produced last summer's silver dime. We make tools that turn every hunt into a record — GPS routes you can replay, finds you can browse by category, and a map that shows you exactly which patch of ground you've already swept.
What LuckyFind does
LuckyFind is the simplest way to keep track of your metal detecting hunts without slowing them down. The app does four things, all designed to fit into the rhythm of an actual hunt rather than fight it:
- GPS route tracking. Start a hunt and the app records your path on the map. Pause and resume at will. View detailed stats about each route — distance, duration, and the finds you logged along the way.
- Find logging. Tap once to log a find with its name, category, GPS location, and a photo. No typing, no setup, no syncing — the data lives on your phone and stays yours.
- Map overlays. Toggle between satellite, hybrid, and standard maps. Overlay your previous routes on top of the current view so you can see exactly which patch of ground you've already covered and where the gaps are.
- History and badges. Browse every route you've ever recorded. View finds sorted by category (coins, jewelry, relics, modern junk). Earn badges as you hit milestones and grow your collection.
The whole point: stop guessing where you've been, stop forgetting what you've found. The app fades into the background while you swing, and gives you the data when you want it.
Who builds LuckyFind
LuckyFind is built and maintained by Stuck at Home, LLC, a small independent software studio. We're based in the United States and ship apps that we use ourselves. The detecting in our team is genuine — we hunt local parks, beaches, and old farms, and the features we add are the ones we wish existed when we were out swinging.
Our guides are written and reviewed by active detectorists. We don't publish content we wouldn't follow ourselves, and we update articles when our own field experience contradicts something we wrote earlier. If you spot something inaccurate, tell us — we'd rather get a correction email than keep a wrong number on the site.
The free metal detecting guides
Alongside the app, we publish a growing library of free, in-depth tutorials at /guides/. Every guide is free, ad-light, and written for people who actually go detecting rather than just read about it.
