A metal detecting app built for the field
LuckyFind turns every hunt into a record. Track routes with GPS, log finds with photos and categories, overlay your detecting history on the map, and earn badges as your collection grows — free for iPhone and Android.
How it works
Three steps. No setup, no syncing, no learning curve — open the app, start a hunt, and let it record.
Start a route
Tap once to begin tracking. LuckyFind records your path via GPS and follows along on a satellite map. Pause and resume anytime.
Log every find
When you dig something good, snap a photo and tag the find with a category. The GPS coordinates and date are saved automatically.
Review your hunts
Browse past routes on the map, compare statistics across spots, and see every find you've ever logged sorted by category.

Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about LuckyFind.
Is LuckyFind free?
LuckyFind is free to download and try on iPhone and Android. The app is freemium — core route tracking and find logging are available at no cost, and some advanced features are part of a premium upgrade.
Does LuckyFind work without internet?
Yes. LuckyFind tracks GPS routes and logs finds entirely offline. You can detect in remote spots without cell service. Map tiles for the satellite view need a connection to load fresh tiles, but recently viewed areas remain available offline via the device's map cache.
Does LuckyFind detect metal itself?
No. LuckyFind is a companion app for use alongside an actual metal detector — it doesn't replace one. The app handles GPS route tracking, find logging, photo cataloging, and map overlays so you can focus on detecting.
What metal detectors does it work with?
All of them. LuckyFind doesn't connect to your detector — it runs on your phone in your pocket. Works equally well alongside a Garrett ACE, Minelab Equinox, Nokta Simplex, or any other detector.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. LuckyFind requires a free account so your routes, finds, and photos stay tied to your profile. Sign-up takes about a minute and uses your email.
What data does LuckyFind collect?
Your routes, finds, photos, and notes are stored locally on your device. We do not sell or share your detecting data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Is LuckyFind on iPad?
LuckyFind runs on iPad, but only iPads with Wi-Fi + Cellular have built-in GPS — Wi-Fi-only iPads can't track routes in the field. Either way, the app is best on a phone you can carry in your pocket while detecting.
